FAQ

  1. Is this for me? NASTC’s camps are for skiers levels 7-10. So if you can make linked parallel turns with a pole plant down groomed intermediate terrain, then yes, NASTC is for you. And, if you can ski everything the resort throws at you no matter what conditions but you’d like to get smoother, stronger, and more efficient, then yes, NASTC is also for you. At most camps there are at least 3 skill-level groups, sometimes 4 or 5.
  2. Should I bring my own equipment? We recommended you travel to our camp wherever it is with your own skis, boots and poles. But most of our host resorts have excellent demo shops for skis, so if you prefer you can just bring your own boots.
  3. Do you provide lift tickets? YES and if you have a pass, that’s fine too.
  4. What if I am coming alone to the camp? Don’t worry, most of our students come alone.
  5. Do I need to get in better shape before my camp? That is always recommended because you will get more out of your NASTC camp. But if you don’t have time prior, we guarantee you’ll be inspired after your camp. Skiing in shape is just more fun, and it is safer.
  6. I have done a lot of other private ski camps and taken resort ski school group and private lessons. What is so special about NASTC? When we started in 1994 we wanted to offer a multi-day, total immersion, ski improvement option for avid skiers. That is because we found that real changes only come from repeated movement patterns. We have designed our camps to meet the needs of advanced intermediate, advanced, and expert skiers who really want to level up a notch or more. We only staff our camps with the best teachers in the business, members of the PSIA Alpine Team. These are the 15 top instructors in the USA, chosen for a 4 year post to lead the industry. Skiing with NASTC gives the public a chance to ski with these legends. They know how to make quick, real, and lasting changes to your skiing.
  7. Can I bring my kid? Yes, we welcome skiers ages 16 and up to our camps.
  8. My partner doesn’t ski as well as I do, is there something for them to do? Yes, we recommend the resort ski school and can help arrange private or group lessons for him or her, and there are lots of other activities at all of our host resorts if they are only interested in skiing part of the time.
  9. I am a resort skier but I would like to get into backcountry skiing. What’s my first step? Your first step is a 1-day Intro To Backcountry Skiing private lesson with us. The next step is our 2-day (weekends) AIARE Level 1 avalanche science class.
  10. You started in 1994? How have you guys been doing this for so long? Because we love our students and we love what we do.
