Trip dates: March 12-20, 2010 Price: $4995 Levels: 7-9 70% Off Piste Nearest airport: Geneva, Switzerland Transportation Recommendations: We recommend flying into Geneva, Switzerland, and taking the train to the town of Tasch where you will connect with another train that takes you on a short ride directly to the village of Zermatt. The scenery through this particular area of Switzerland is breathtaking so have your cameras ready. We suggest that you try to arrive earlier in the day so that you arrive into Zermatt on time for the orientation meeting and group dinner. We recommend that you book your return flights as late as possible, to be able to enjoy a full day of skiing or sightseeing and allot for travel time from Zermatt back to Geneva. You can make reservations for your train connection from Geneva to Tasch/Zermatt on the Swiss Railway website, go to the following link and it will directly take you to the schedule inquiry page which will then allow you to make a reservation. http://www.sbb.ch/en/index.htm Trip notes: Geneva is a beautiful city and it is worth it to stay a night and explore the city a bit. The Valais or Wallis in German is the heart of Switzerland's ski country and its many villages are worth a side trip. The voltage in Switzerland is 220v and you will need an adapter plug (two round prongs works in most sockets). The currency in Switzerland is the Swiss Franc (Switzerland is not a member of the EU) and you will therefore need to withdraw some although some places accept Euros. Most banks will change your money for you or you can withdraw money from an ATM.
